Dave Poletti Joins Commissioning Team

David Poletti has joined Pathfinder as a Senior Commissioning Agent. Pathfinder’s specialized Commissioning Department helps ensure that new buildings, those experience renovations and buildings that need fine tuning of energy consuming systems are fully functional and optimized per the intent of the engineering design. Mr. Poletti brings more than 40 years of experience including design, sales and service of HVAC and controls systems.

Pathfinder Welcomes New Staff

Nicholas Pegoli and Brian Smith have joined Pathfinder Engineers & Architects as Mechanical Engineers.

Smith, a recent graduate of Virginia Tech, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is Lean Manufacturing Green Belt Certified.

Pegoli is a recent graduate of the University of Rochester, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In April, he was the recipient of the University's Helmut Waymann Prize in recognition if his insight, integrity and skill in engineering experimentation.

Pathfinder's Managing Partner Nancy Jendryaszek, AIA, LEED AP, is participating on the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce industry-specific roundtable for the A/E/C industry. The members-only event is July 21, from 7:30 -9:00 a.m., at the Five Star Bank at City Gate.

Pathfinder's Latest Zero Net Energy Project

leaf_house_1.gifPathfinder is providing energy services for a new Zero Net Energy residence to be constructed in Stephentown, NY. Pathfinder's energy modeling will inform early design decisions by evaluating impacts and optimizing energy consumption associated with design considerations, including:

  • Site conditions, floor plan options, massing and orientation
  • Building envelope options including insulation and glazing
  • Passive solar energy strategies
  • Heating and cooling systems
  • Ventilation and human comfort

The home will be sited and designed with accommodation for a solar PV system to generate as much energy as is used annually in the home.
